Originally known as “Kedai Runcit Zakaria Omar” in the 1970s, the company is now the largest 24-hour Bumiputera convenience retail group with 33 outlets in Penang, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Pahang and Kelantan. With more than a decade of experience in the retail industry, D-LIMA offers quick and friendly service to all of its customers. The retail chain also provides more than 2,000 Halal products for the Muslim community.

Growing chain
In line with its expansion efforts, D-LIMA has developed several franchise schemes for budding entrepreneurs. Under the Graduate Franchise Programme, fresh graduates who are interested in starting their own business are provided with the necessary skills and training to start a D-LIMA outlet in a choice location.

Additionally, under the Women Franchise Programme, women entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to start and operate a D-LIMA outlet in their neighbourhood. D-LIMA also promotes its franchising under the PROSPER Retail Scheme.

Franchisees are also entitled to special discounts and attractive prices from
D-LIMA’s pool of suppliers to ensure a healthy profit margin. Moving forward, D-Lima plans to open at least another 15 franchise outlets in Malaysia by 2010 to capture a bigger market share.
