Futsal is an international form of indoor soccer, with 12 million players in over 100 countries worldwide. However, this popular sport was not introduced in Malaysia until less than a decade ago. Spotting the vast potential of this sport, Sports Planet was established in November 2002 to provide futsal venues, services and facilities in Malaysia. As the popularity of futsal increased, the number of venues also grew.
Today, Sports Planet has 12 futsal venues located in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Its flagship venue in Ampang is big enough to host nine futsal pitches and eight badminton courts.
